Should i wait for a better property deal?
I found an apartment for sale a block away from work. I placed an offer for R10,000.00 less the asking price, siting that the place needed some fixing. The agent returned to me 2 weeks later and said that the asking price had been miscalculated and therefore increased by a further R5,000.00. The difference isn't too much but I felt like I was being taken for a ride, so i declined the deal & pulled out my offer.It's a month later & i'm desperate too move closer to work because the commute is way too much. I went onto the net & found that the asking price of that property had been increased by a further R15,000.00.It's still the most affordable apartment that i could find around work, which is an industrial area and accomodation is scarce.Did i lose out on a good deal? Should I still go for it or should i wait till I can afford a more expensive apartment?

My friend have a beach front rental property in Miami, Floria and has deducted depreciation and other expenses from the rental. I know that some of the expenses are not deductible because the property was used for personal purposes. He said that he was making repairs to the property while he was there and that the use was therefore not personal. The personal use issue was not raised by the Service and settlement agreement treats the entire amount as deductible. What action can he take or what can I tell him?

I am a high school teacher who happens to have invested in some rental properties. I own 3 other homes besides my own. I recently looked into refinancing one of them. I put 20 % down on the property and have never missed a payment or been late. I am wanting to refinance to a 15 year mortgage at a lower rate. This will make my payment go up slightly but will save me a bunch over the long haul. Why do I need an appraisal? The bank gave me a loan based on a higher value when I purchased the house so why does the value matter? I am willing to pay the closing costs etc. I believe this is the red tape you spoke of in your speech the other night.
