Getting a personal property tax waiver?
So I tried to register my new car today and apparently I didn't have my personal property tax waiver...just real estate. However, when I looked into it, I would have had to declare on January 1, 2011 and I bought my last car March 18th, 2011. I also was not sent a bill last December to pay on anything and they could not find me or my car in the system. Now that I'm reading up on it, I would have to bring the car title or registration with me to be able to get the waiver...however, that car was totaled on 3 29 12 and has since been sold to another person for work at his auto body shop and he wanted to keep all original paperwork which seemed fine at the time . How do I go about solving this problem since I don't have those documents any further and need to plate my new car by 5pm Monday I obviously can't get the old car cleared with the DMV since it's totaled and I SOLD it to another person as in it is no longer in my possession. The most I can do is contact him and hope he still has the original registration paperwork since he's the one who asked for it in the first place when the sale took place. Any ideas taking all of that into consideration would be great.

I am 70 and would like to move somewhere in the Hawaiian Islands and buy a small property. Would it cause a?
problem? I am from Montreal, and with the current events with college and university students still causing trouble after 14 straight weeks, it is causing me to ask the question about living the rest of my life in peace. I have visited several times and I must say that I feel very much a home there and have a very sad feeling when it's time to leave to come home. I think it would be nice to be reverse and visit Montreal and leave to go home to Hawaii. If any feedback is available it would be much appreciated.

I am the owner and mortgage holder on real property in New York. My grandfather recently created an irrevocable trust and named me the sole trustee and sole beneficiary. How do I find aprox. property tax rates in Houston?
My wife and I have recently moved to Houston, we have always rented so I am ignorant as to how or what I would be charged in the way of property taxes if we bought a house. I know that it is contingent on where it is and the appraisal value, but I just have no idea what I should even be expecting on a 200k house inside 610 for those familiar with houston . Are taxes going to be aprox. $1000 or $20,000 annually? I mean, I have no idea what to expect as I have never had to pay them. Obviously this is information I will request once we get serious, but I would greatly appreciate someone just humoring me and throwing out an aprox. number as far as what to expect. Here's the situation. I'm dating this girl in Vegas yeah it's a long distance relationship . I've known her for 6 months but haven't met her outside. Well a few months ago she told me she had purchased a certain property in Vegas. I was suppose to go visit her multiple times since she supposedly bought this house but things just magically keeps getting in the way. So I'm getting suspicious about this girl.So I looked up her property on this website clarkcountynv.gov Depts assessor Pages RecordSearch.aspx And the information was basically not hers. I don't know if this girl is lying to me or what but here's the question...How accurate or dependable is the information you get on that website?

My property line goes thru my neighbors house...?
They have no rights to adverse possession. I have spent alot of money and tried to negotiate...yet 10 months of no resolution and almost daily harrassment I am ready to go down to the county to have them take care of the problem...end result tearing down the addition. I feel bad...but I do not want to continue to spend a fortune taking this to court and continued stress. My lawyer won't even talk to me in regards to going down to the county to have them take care of the problem. I do not feel like a am doing anything wrong as I feel I have spent enough time and energy to resolve issue. I am due to start a six month rental of a property next Friday but I now realise I cannot afford it and want to back out of the verbal agreement. Can I do this without legal reprecussions?.. I have receive a confirmation letter from the letting agent telling me to show up at their office next Friday when I will sign an agreement and pay monies covering the first months rental.
