Decrease Capital Improvements with sale of property?
How do I decrease current asset capital improvement account with the sale of a property? I purchased a property and rehabbed it, listing all of the repairs under capital improvements which was a sub account of the property asset account . This increased the value of the property. I then sold the property, decreased from the building account and increased the " sale of building" account. Well my issue is that the value for building account is now zeroed out, but the sub account for capital improvements still remains. Please help. Thanks,AdamI took the purchase price $52,209.03, and applied that to the account " Building" . Created a sub account " Capital Improvements" and applied the total to it $7,119.50. Which increased the building account to $59,328.53. Then I sold the property for $98,436.69 with a deposit. I made a general journal zeroing out " Building" with a credit by a $59,328.53 and a debit to " Sale of Building" of the same. Now " Capital Improvements" still has $7,119.50 to it.Thanks in advance for any help,Adam
How to get Deposit & other payments made to letting agent, who has not offered the property?
Hello,i had made payment of 2000 for deposit & charges to a letting agent, who is not a part of any group like Property Ombudsman or ... for renting out a property. Letting agent showed me the property but on the day when i need to collect the keys, he gave reasons like current occupant didn't move out and didn't hand over the keys. since i didn't occupy the property, i opted for deposit refund. the letting agent is not saying a No directly, simply saying, his manager would get in touch to resolve. but that too didnt happen yet.i have the receipts for the entire payment that i have made. please help me in getting the money back from the fraudulent letting agent.this letting agent has cheated and still cheating many people like this, which i came to know very recently after discussing with friends.how to get the money back???

Do I have to let people in the view our rental property before we've moved out?
Ok so actually I know if they give notice we do have to allow them entry but the problems are My partner is working nights at the moment and I don't think it's right that he should be getting up before 5pm to show people aroundAnd there is loads of damp and mould in the property. It has been reported and the landlord has seen it although it's worse since he came round. We were told to clean it off but I got fed up of doing it because it just comes back worse each time. So it's now really bad, it looks disgusting. The walls are meant to be magnolia but they're black with damp and big patches of mould. I wanted to clean it off before anyone views it as I'm concerned that we'll be blamed and charged if people won't rent it because of how it looks. I certainly wouldn't rent it What can I do and where do I stand?It's a monster cleaning job that I can't do properly until the house is empty.
